Prior to enrolling, students should have a firm grasp on the Firearms Safety Rules, the Fundamentals of Marksmanship, and should be comfortable handling a firearm. If you are a new shooter or uncomfortable handling a firearm, please take the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting prior to NRA CCW.Â
NRA CCW is a one day (10 hour) course designed to provide students with the basic Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude to legally carry a defensive handgun and how to survive a defensive encounter. Course address will be provided upon registration to protect the privacy and safety of our students.
You must be legally permitted to handle a firearm to take this course. This DOES NOT mean that you need a CCW permit. This means that you must not be prohibited from handling a firearm.
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to attend this course.Â
Pregnant and nursing mothers, please consult your doctor.
You must show proof of recent firearms safety training and be comfortable handling a firearm.
There will be a Safety and Proficiency Audit of each student before the course. Audit will include basic handling, loading, unloading, showing clear, and basic firearm manipulation.
If you do not meet these pre-requisites or are unclear, please check out NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting.
